A magnificent country residence, the Rifugio Valle Grande Country House stands out in its unique, natural setting, surrounded by a vast private forest at the foot of beautiful historic Mount Queglia. According to tradition, this is the site where the Italic tribes swore their oath against Rome in 90 BC.

In complete harmony with its natural environment, the Rifugio Valle Grande is an enchanting structure, a skillful mixture of native mountain stone and the warm colors of wood - a real “refuge” and an oasis of hospitality. The wonderful, elegant dining room welcomes guests with its own distinctive style - antique, regional elements perfectly blended with modern functionality. When waiters appear in Renaissance dress, you may even feel as if you’ve traveled backwards in time.

Quality and authenticity are watchwords for our kitchen. Everybody makes this claim, but we actually do it: we rigorously make sure that our olive oil is extra virgin by using olives that come from our own trees and personally following the process from harvesting to pressing. We feature traditional Abruzzo cuisine.
